Jewellery Care

Minor differences may be evident as each piece is crafted and handmade by Anneke in her personal studio. Emphasis is placed on the intricacies of each piece, with variations and markings viewed as integral to the handmade aesthetic.

Jewellery that is cherished and frequently worn will develop markings and tarnish over time when exposed to air; bronze and brass, in particular, can form a dark patina.

We think these markings and change in color tell your story and show that the piece is loved. For a shinier appearance, use a jewelry polishing cloth on your pieces.

Wearing your jewellery can help prevent tarnishing as the oils from your skin slow down the tarnishing process.

Prevent excessive moisture and contact with harsh chemicals. When storing your jewelry, particularly if you won't be wearing it for a period, it is advisable to keep it dry and store it in a sealable plastic bag or airtight container.

Yellow bronze and brass may cause your skin to turn slightly green, depending on the PH balance of your skin. This occurs predominantly with rings, due to the close proximity of your skin and the presence of moisture. Necklaces and earrings are usually worn loose enough to avoid this from happening. This color change is completely safe.
